Well sorry I haven't posted anything in awhile I am getting new internet so I have been off the grid for awhile. No big deal though. I have been doing some hiking and got back on the mat after taking some time off to get ready for the Adventure race in Vermont.
Well today had a great seminar will Brazilian Jiu-jitsu black belts Luiz Filho (5th degree) and Kroyler Gracie. It was amazing to be around a man who has been doing jiu-jitsu longer than I have been alive. We learned alot of really cool stuff unfortunately i can't remember all of it but I do remember some of it. Both instructors where really cool and down to earth people. Luiz was really focused on teaching jiu-jitsu to use in the streets because alot of people who train in jiu-jitsu forget what it is really all about and that is self-defense. Now that jiu-jitsu is moving towards the sport aspect, like judo or taekwando the history and basis sometimes gets lost in the shuffle. It was nice because we did 2 hours of no-gi and 2 hours of gi training.
I am not going to get into what was taught out of respect for our teachers, but believe me it was eye opening. I have been doing some hiking getting ready for the tough mudder in May which is going to be awesome, but till next time later train hard
